At Allerton Church of England Primary School, music is an important ingredient in the children’s education.  Music is a unique and powerful form of communication that can change the way pupils feel, think and act. It combines creativity with emotion, enabling, personal expression, reflection and development.  Our children are able to develop skills in listening, composition and performance. Music also plays a great part in our collective worship. Our children are given the chance to perform in concerts, plays, carol services, and class assemblies. We aim to give every child the opportunity to participate in a structured scheme of musical experience and develop at their own pace, no matter what their age or ability in order to give each individual child a sense of personal achievement thus developing confidence and a sense of community.

We employ music specialists to deliver Steel Pan teaching to Year 4 and Curriculum teaching to classes in Key Stage 2, whilst developing teachers own skills.
