Euro final and Monday morning
Fri 09 Jul 2021It’s 55 years since England reached a major football final and at ACE Primary we would like to recognise this historic occasion.
If your child is a football fan and is likely to be staying up to hear the final whistle being blown on Sunday night, then please let them stay in bed a little longer on Monday.
We would rather have children rested and coming to school ready to learn rather than being absent all day or a bit tired and grumpy!
School will start at the normal time but children arriving up to 10:30 won’t be marked as late, and they won’t miss any lessons (this includes our children who are currently self-isolating).
This is a great opportunity for us to see our School Values being displayed in this sporting event – faith, community, inspiration and action.

Update regarding our Operational Guidance from 19th July 2021
Thu 08 Jul 2021Following the prime minister’s announcement on Monday about the lifting of restrictions from July 19th 2021, the Department for Education has published operational guidance for schools.
Our term is due to end on Friday 23rd July 2021 and we will keep everything as it is now, for that final week.
Our hygiene systems will stay the same. We will ensure pupils clean their hands regularly and we will maintain our cleaning schedule and keep classrooms well ventilated.
There has been a really significant rise in cases, not only in our school, local area and Leeds but also nationally. You will be aware of this from our own school updates and local What’s app groups, news updates.
If anyone in school develops Covid-19 symptoms we will send them home, as advised by the Government.
From August 16th 2021, children under the age of 18 will not need to self-isolate when informed they are a close contact of a positive case. Instead, they will be advised to take a PCR test.

The Local Authority have advised us that Outbreak Management Plans should cover the possibility that bubbles may need to be re-introduced for a temporary period in local areas.
We are working on our September plans, which we will share with you before the end of term.
One point to note is that Schools have been advised that we should maintain our capacity to deliver high quality remote education for the next year.
