Remote Learning at Home: Supporting Our Pupils in Any Situation
At ACE, we are committed to ensuring that learning continues smoothly, whatever the circumstances. To support families when unexpected situations lead to emergency school closures, we have created this dedicated Remote Learning section, featuring carefully planned activities for each age phase.
These activities are not intended to replace classroom teaching but to provide meaningful opportunities for children to continue learning at home until normal school routines resume.
Learning at Home: Activities by Age Phase
We recognise that children learn differently at each stage of their development. Our remote learning section is organised into four key phases, with age-appropriate activities that are engaging, practical and flexible.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
For our youngest learners, the focus is on play-based and experiential learning. Activities are simple, fun, and designed to be easily carried out at home using everyday resources.
These activities support the prime areas of development: communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional growth.

Key Stage 1 (KS1)
In KS1, activities are designed to build foundational skills, helping children develop early reading, writing and mathematics skills, in a structured yet engaging way.
The focus is on maintaining progress by revisiting, practising and embedding the core skills taught in the classroom.

We understand that every home situation is different, and we encourage families to use the remote learning resources in a way that works best for them. Flexibility and balance is key - short, regular periods of focused activity are often more effective than trying to replicate a full school day.
